An application must include your full name, artist name, Instagram profile, country or nationality, chosen category, and five of your best tattoo works.
Every application is reviewed individually. You enter a battle only after the organizer confirms your selection by email.
Opponents are not matched randomly. The organizer compares tattoo style, skill level, quality of work, experience, and category to create a balanced matchup.
A battle can be Tattoo Artist vs Tattoo Artist or Studio vs Studio, where each studio creates one collaboration tattoo. The organizer confirms the final pairing and format.
Each artist or studio creates one new tattoo that fits the confirmed category. A finished piece made before the battle cannot be entered as a new competition tattoo.
The deadline is exactly one month from the official start of the battle. The tattoo and all required material must be complete by that date.
Real work. Real process. Real result.Record in landscape 16:9 for YouTube. You do not need to film every minute, but the footage must clearly show the journey from idea to final tattoo.
You may speak in your native language. Important spoken content will receive English subtitles.
Submit clear, high-quality photographs that represent the actual tattoo accurately and allow all three judges to assess the same material.
Do not use Photoshop manipulation, AI editing, appearance-changing filters, corrective color or contrast edits, digital retouching, or removal of imperfections.
Intentional manipulation designed to influence the judging results in automatic disqualification.
Final photographs must show the tattoo as it looks in real life.Send all usable process footage, any final edit you have made, final photographs, and other relevant material to the organizer by email. A ZIP file is preferred for the video footage so the submission stays together.
The material is passed to the editor and becomes a dedicated World Ink Battle episode for YouTube and Instagram.
Three judges vote independently. Each judge chooses one work and gives it one point, so the final result is 3:0 or 2:1 with no draw.
Every participant receives professional feedback from all three judges. The winner receives the World Ink Battle Winner award and a sponsor prize package, which is prepared for the specific battle and shipped to the winner.
